MUTUAL AID RESPONSE 0140hrs. Ladder 25 was dispatched mutual aid to Preston for a working fire in a building on the old Norwich State Hospital property. Ladder 25's aerial pipe was deployed for fire suppression. **5/19/25** 0140hrs. WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE Ledyard and Gales Ferry Fire Companies were dispatched to #8 Rosemarie Court for a house fire. First arriving units found a well-involved structure and declared a working fire. All GFFC apparatus responded and operated. **5/13/25** 1651hrs. SECOND ALARM FIRE Ledyard and Gales Ferry Fire Companies were dispatched to #225 Lambtown Road for a house fire. First arriving units located a well-involved building fire and a 2nd alarm was struck. Rural water supply operations plan utilized. **4/23/25** 1725hrs. MUTUAL AID RESPONSE Tanker 24 was requested mutual aid as part of the water supply assignment to #33 Pequot Road in Montville for a scrap yard fire. Tanker 24 shuttled 12,000 gallons of water to supply fire suppression efforts. **4/10/25** 0133hrs. COVER ASSIGNMENT Ladder 25 responded mutual aid to provide station coverage for the City of Norwich as they operated at a building fire. **4/5/25** 0034hrs. WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE Gales Ferry and Ledyard Fire Companies were dispatched to 1981 Route 12 for a building fire. First arriving units located a fire in the basement which was subsequently extinguished. **3/8/25** 0040hrs. WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE Gales Ferry and Ledyard Fire Companies were dispatched to #19 Bluff Road West for a building fire. First arriving companies located a well-involved detached garage fire. The working fire dispatch was requested and the fire was extinguished. **1/1/25** STRUCTURE FIRE Ledyard and Gales Ferry Fire Companies were dispatched to #21 Boulder Way for a house fire. Electrical workers in the area reporting smoke from the residence. ** 4/1/2021 ** Gales Ferry was requested with our tanker mutual aid to Hopkinton RI for a structure fire. The crew of two was on scene for about two hours before being released. ** 3/10/2021 **
Gales Ferry and Ledyard departments dispatched to 46 Avery Hill Rd for a brush fire. Several mutual aid departments were called in to assist due to access and lack of water supply. Crews had to deploy 2600’ of 5” supply hose to support water supply operations to fight this fire. The fire was held to the wooded area without damage to any structures. ** 2/24/2021**
As two other calls were being placed under control, both departments were dispatched to a odor of gas on Gallup Hill Rd. Units freed from both the MVA and fire and responded to find an empty propane tank that was off gassing an odorant. ** 2/24/2021**
While operating at the earlier MVA, units were advised of a structure fire in the 1600 block of Rt.12. Due to equipment and manpower committed to the accident scene, mutual aid resources were started. Gales Ferry Ladder 25 and Deputy 20 on scene found a small appliance fire that was knocked down with an extinguisher. Subase fire, Poqounnock Bridge and Center Groton assisted at this scene. ** 2/24/2021 **

Gales Ferry and Ledyard departments were dispatched to a two car mva with injuries. The accident occurred on Rt.12 at Military Hwy. ** 2/16/2021 **
Ledyard and Gales Ferry departments were dispatched to a one vehicle rollover on Stoddards Wharf Road. Gales Ferry members assisted stabilizing the vehicle and removing the patient.

While operating at a vehicle fire, Ledyard and Gales Ferry departments were dispatched for an MVA on Sandy Hollow Rd. Crews at the vehicle fire along with staffing at the fire stations responded to the scene. One vehicle was found on its side down a small embankment. The single occupant was uninjured and refused transport. Units remained on scene until the vehicle was removed due to the close proximity to the reservoir. |

Ledyard and Gales Ferry departments were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Lorenz Parkway. Upon arrival, units found a well-involved vehicle. Gales Ferry assisted Ledyard with extinguishment and overhaul. Units operated on scene for about 1 hour. This is one of three calls that we handled in a span of 3 hours during the snow storm. |

Gales Ferry and Ledyard departments responded to a reported chimney fire. Upon further investigation it was found that the homeowner was burning unseasoned firewood.

Gales Ferry and Ledyard departments responded to a fire alarm activation. Units found a broken sprinkler pipe in the interior of an empty boathouse. While on scene a second alarm came in from another building on the property. That alarm was also caused due to a broken sprinkler pipe.

Ledyard and Gales Ferry fire departments were dispatched to a Technical Rescue. The patient was about 1/2 mile in the woods with a possible broken leg. Both departments were able to make contact with the patient, provide EMS care and package him for removal from the woods to a waiting ambulance.
