** 4/1/2021 ** Gales Ferry was requested with our tanker mutual aid to Hopkinton RI for a structure fire. The crew of two was on scene for about two hours before being released. ** 3/10/2021 **
Gales Ferry and Ledyard departments dispatched to 46 Avery Hill Rd for a brush fire. Several mutual aid departments were called in to assist due to access and lack of water supply. Crews had to deploy 2600’ of 5” supply hose to support water supply operations to fight this fire. The fire was held to the wooded area without damage to any structures. ** 2/24/2021**
As two other calls were being placed under control, both departments were dispatched to a odor of gas on Gallup Hill Rd. Units freed from both the MVA and fire and responded to find an empty propane tank that was off gassing an odorant. ** 2/24/2021**
While operating at the earlier MVA, units were advised of a structure fire in the 1600 block of Rt.12. Due to equipment and manpower committed to the accident scene, mutual aid resources were started. Gales Ferry Ladder 25 and Deputy 20 on scene found a small appliance fire that was knocked down with an extinguisher. While operating at a vehicle fire, Ledyard and Gales Ferry departments were dispatched for an MVA on Sandy Hollow Rd. Crews at the vehicle fire along with staffing at the fire stations responded to the scene. One vehicle was found on its side down a small embankment. The single occupant was uninjured and refused transport. Units remained on scene until the vehicle was removed due to the close proximity to the reservoir. |
